Anyone who has lived or visited downtown Sarasota has been to the icon which IS Classico. There is a special style, feeling and ambiance to the place and Raf is the main reason for that. Of course, not to mention the food is amazing and the employees extremely courteous, but there is so much more to this man than his involvement in one of Sarasota’s most influential bistros. MEGHAN – MANAGER OF BRICKS SMOKED MEATS
My joke is that this place is so good that it is run by Jesus. Will this reference of mine upset some people? Probably, but its my hopes that it doesn’t. Its the only way I can describe why the food there is as good as it is. We have the pleasure of interviewing the manager extraordinaire who had the foresight to hire Jesus and who keeps Bricks Smoked Meats running like a top. Meghan provided us with the exciting history of the restaurant, its mission and purpose and was gracious enough to hang out with us for a while. Listen in and then go EAT!
AMANDA BAAR – MANAGER OF RISE & NYES
When one thinks ice cream and coffee in this town, those in the know think Rise & Nyes. And whom is the one always smiling, positive and keeping things running like a well oiled machine? Well, that could only be the infamous Amanda Baar! We had the pleasure of speaking with Ms Baar between her responsibilities at the shop. She graciously sat with us and shared some pretty incredible things about the business, their mission as well as some of her own struggles.
